Maybe correctly adding the name of the composer, dates, copyright information, etc. I would like to see some templates added that would allow a more professional outline and finished work in writing spelling out main lyrics, choruses, instrumental interludes and codas. The fact that there are so many tools available to me from within the MR application without having to scour the internet for rhymes, words and ideas is fantastic and really helps keep the momentum of writing stay constant. Easy to use and very useful for new ideas. Too bad I find it hard to use when I want to. This feels like a money move for Masterwiter. Yes, I can access it on my iPhone but it's small and the load time is painful.
Having to sit in an area where WiFi is available takes all the romance out of writing a song. I enjoy taking my laptop to a riverside, a mountain top, or even a campsite. I much prefer to have a software version of Masterwriter. If you are not serious about writing, or do not write prolifically, then this might not be necessary for you, and Word, etc would suffice. If you write, then this might be a useful tool. Support is generally quite good, but I have not had any major issues, and it is difficult to say what might happen in such a case. I would wish to try it out and play with it a bit before passing any opinion on it. I may try the new version, but when I was first introduced to it, it was strange, and much more complicated than I was prepared for. I use the older version, and it is fine for writing work that I do.
I am generally pleased with Masterwriter in the manner that I use it. If it wasn't for Youtube I would be completely lost. The program can be complicated without proper instructions on how to use it.
It is bothersome to have to constantly enter my password, no matter if I use bookmarks. More experienced hands, however, will find little that they haven't encountered before. The jcourse is an excellent point of departure for those starting out in writing fiction.
